SUPPORT FOR TEENS
At Unfold Psychology, we understand the unique challenges that tweens and teens face in today's world. Our team of expert therapists is here to provide a supportive and caring environment for young people as they navigate through life. We are committed to helping our clients build the resilience they need to face the challenges they encounter. Our goal is to empower them to create meaningful and fulfilling lives, while working through any obstacles that may arise.
OUR APPROACH
Our tailored approach to therapy and support for tweens and teens is aimed at creating an environment where they can feel seen, heard, and validated. Our experienced team of licensed therapists takes a collaborative approach, working closely with each young person to identify their unique goals and meet them where they're at. We use a range of scientifically-proven techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help tweens and teens achieve their full potential and thrive in their personal and academic pursuits.
GETTING STARTED
Whether your child would like to join a support group or start individual therapy, parents will meet with Dr. Heafey or one of our clinicians for an initial session to discuss their child's behaviors and parent concerns and goals. Typically, your child will meet with one of our clinicians or attend support group sessions on a weekly basis, and if appropriate receive additional support from our Education Specialists. Every 3-4 weeks, or more frequently depending on your family's goals, parents will meet with their child's clinician. Most children receive treatment over a period of 4-6 months. When new challenges arise, our team is available to resume services.

FEES FOR SERVICES
Fees for sessions vary depending on the level of support your child and family require. The initial parent session with Dr. Heafey is $450. The one-hour session will include a comprehensive intake, identifying your concerns and goals for your child. Dr. Heafey will spend time outside of your initial session reviewing records and background information. The fee for sessions following the initial appointment is $325 per 50-minute session.

We do not accept health insurance directly, although we are happy to submit claims directly to your insurance company, as well as provide Superbills that are necessary for reimbursement by PPO health insurance plans, medical flexible spending and health savings accounts. Families with HMO or EPO insurance plans should contact their insurance providers, as most often these plans will not provide reimbursement for services rendered by an out-of-network provider.

As the result of the 2022 No Surprises Act, please be aware that you have the right to receive a good faith estimate of healthcare treatment costs. Your Good Faith Estimate will be uploaded to your client portal at the time that you schedule an initial appointment. However, you can ask our intake coordinator or your provider for this estimate before you schedule a service or at any other time during treatment. If you receive a bill over $400 more than your good faith estimate, you can dispute the bill. For more information regarding the good faith estimate and/or dispute process, see your good faith estimate or visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises

We provide a safe and welcoming environment where children can feel comfortable and have the tools and support they need to overcome any challenge.

COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS

We specialize in helping children and parents who may be struggling with communication and finding it difficult to express their emotions. Our team of licensed therapists provide a safe and supportive environment to help our clients navigate the complex emotions and challenges of daily life.
SIBLING RELATIONSHIPS
Siblings can be a source of joy and support throughout our lives, but they can also experience conflict and tension that can be difficult to resolve. Our team of mental health professionals at Unfold Psychology is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate these challenges successfully. We offer a range of evidence-based therapies to help patients manage and overcome these difficulties, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other effective treatment modalities.

TEENS LIVING WITH A SINGLE PARENT
At Unfold Psychology, we understand that being a teenager is hard enough without having to face challenges like living with a single parent. Our team of experts is here to offer compassionate therapy sessions and help teens overcome any obstacles they may encounter during this difficult time. Our approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs, and we strive to create a safe and confidential space for our clients to explore their feelings and work toward a healthier, happier life.
INCREASING CONFIDENCE
Research shows that self-confidence can have a major impact on overall well-being, so we make it our priority to provide tweens and teens with the tools they need to build their self-esteem. Our team works collaboratively with families and caregivers to develop individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each child. We offer a variety of services including individual therapy, play therapy, and family therapy to help children build confidence and reach their full potential.

DEVELOPING POSITIVE HABITS
We know that children can benefit from a variety of small tasks and chores that can help develop important values and habits at a young age. That’s why we offer a wide range of resources and programs designed to help parents and caregivers instill a sense of responsibility, empathy, and self-worth in their children. Our psychologists are experts in creating healthy routines for children that promote overall emotional health. Routines, such as daily chores, can instill habits that will benefit a child into adulthood.
